I must admit, I have no idea how to use the 'Spoiler' feature. Trial and error, I guess?
Also, I don't want to be the reason you don't watch 'Hold the Dark', because...well, you might like it...hard to say - tastes differ.
Having said that, I do have misgivings. Without giving away spoilers (at least I don't think I am), my main problem with the movie was the languid pace which I believe the filmmakers utilized on purpose as a superficial means of lending the story some kind of depth and meaning where none actually exists or I suppose to lend some kind of suspenseful moodiness to the whole thing, but for me that fell flat.
There's a lot of mystical mumbo-jumbo and plot points that seem to have been added just for the sake of trying to appear deep or give the movie a theme for the sake of doing so and to me it was totally transparent that's what was going on. The film induced a lot of eye-rolls and had me asking 'what was the point'?
And really, it's a shame, because the cast is pretty good and also, if they'd concentrated on a couple of other aspects of the story, IMO, you could've wound up with something along the lines of 'Wind River' or 'No Country for Old Men' (both of which I liked a lot) or hey...even '30 Days of Night' which is a guilty pleasure for me.
When it comes to Liam Neeson...can't forget he's in 'The Lego Movie'. I love that flick.
