Word Challenge -- Friday thru Monday
« on: August 18, 2020, 02:34:16 AM »
After a billion or so days in isolation, I decided to finally get working seriously again on my books. With a little over twenty thousand words last week I decided I need more.

Today I want to try something I've yet to be able to accomplish a 10k day. Now on many occasions I've gotten in the high sevens but no matter how hard I try 10k is elusive. Today's the day.

Join me and challenge yourself.
Let's motivate and encourage each other.

Set a goal and we'll work on it together.

I live in the future (timezone wise) and I'm done for the day at 5.6k. Not bad.

My best ever was a 17.5k word day, including a first pass edit on it all. It was a ghostwriting deadline. Never again!
The rest of this week I'm aiming for 6k a day or a little more.

Good luck hitting 10k!

Good luck! I might join in a little while. Gotta see where the day is heading. Kid is home from college (pandemic, of course) and I never knew college kids were so needy. I sure don't remember it that way as a former college student myself! :D

Just getting started. I'm challenging for 3,000. (Which is more than I wrote my entire last month so it's an actual challenge. I feel like I've forgotten how to write.)

Sending good vibes your way. Hope it's going well, idontknowyet!

As for me, I'm not making much progress. But I have fresh decaf so we'll see where this goes. :)

I finished a book yesterday and want to finish another next week (I only have around 18k left if the book doesn't go long). That means I need some big word count days.
I'm going to shoot for my ever elusive 10k goal.

What are you trying to hit?

I count the old-fashioned way - pages, not words.  Aim for 10 pages or approx 2500 words.  I'm slow and happy to be slow.  Also happy  to be old-fashioned.

Writing in a notebook is a totally different experience. I do both. Notebooks allow my words to flow different than the computer. I definitely think it's a tool all authors should use.

How goes your writing?

Starting word count for Sunday 140868.

Sorry it hasn't worked out today, but tomorrow is a fresh start! You can do it.

I'll join you in a challenge tomorrow. I'm going to take aim at 4,000 words. (I'll be starting around noon my time.)

I'm pretty sure I'll blow it, but I'm going to try anyway. I'm hoping I'm getting close to the end on at least one of my current wips. :)
Don't rush me.
