My hope is that the second group of people will migrate to YouTube and participate in the ongoing flooding of that site with AI videos.  There's a ton of that stuff already, so it definitely seems to me to be the currently popular "get rich quick" scheme.

I think they're mostly on Facebook.

On YouTube, if I get tricked by a low-quality video, I click out as soon as I realize it's junk and YouTube's algorithms seems to be able to recognize that I did not like that kind of video and doesn't show me more of the same.

On Facebook, if you get tricked by a low-quality video, it doesn't matter if you click out right away or not.  Facebook will present you with ten more of the same.  You have to ignore like two dozen before Facebook's algorithm figures out that you don't want to watch those videos.

No one has offered to help me sell more books, but I regular receive eMails from people promising to help me get more clients for my blog.  :icon_think:

I actually picked up The Complete Works of Shakespeare

But you won't be able to fully appreciate Shakespeare until you've read the works in the original Klingon.

I've been getting the one for the toll road fees. Apparently I am in severe violation and about to be arrested, or worse.

No eMails on that, but I did receive two different text messages claiming I owed tolls.  Seems unlikely since I've never driven on a toll road and I don't even know of any close.  There certainly aren't any where I regularly drive.

I just hit the button to report both as junk and haven't received any new ones since.

Plus, I'm at the local police department fairly regularly and also interact with the county sheriff's office with some frequency, so if there was a warrant out for my arrest, I think they would have gotten me by now.

As I recall, part of the problem was that Author Central (at least back in the day) used to allow different html than the KDP editor did. At that point, CreateSpace also used different html as well.

It's too bad all these different elements couldn't be part of one company. Oh, wait--they are! They just act as if they aren't.

The first group, we can understand, the second is just the growing flood of people who are out for only the money with no grasp of reality. Nothing you say will help them.

Some of that AI video stuff is actually pretty good, by the way, though Sturgeon's "90% of everything is crap" rule still applies.

Summary format problems used to only occur when you entered the info on Author Central. Mine worked fine and was added last week on KDP.

What a pain, Jan. Hope this fixes for you soon.

It would be nice if Amazon had a preview mode for that.

That was my thinking  :icon_rolleyes: :)

That's not being woke. That's just being polite.

 Grin :)
