7k is my next big goal. My best is 6,606 at this point.

Today isn't that day in all probability, but soon, I'm going to go for it again. :)
Don't rush me.

I got 6.7k words tonight. Though 2k of them were for my "deleted scene" to give as a newsletter sign up for organic readers.

I've been reading this can be more effective than book funnel. Though it's not an either or situation.

This trilogy is over 200k, but I'm still pretty sure I need another 22k+ words

Thank you!  We're on the east side of Washington, so hundreds of miles away from the fires on the west side...but the smoke came in yesterday.  We're in the 300s and Spokane is in the 400s for air quality.

Broke 2000 words today.  First time I've done that in a long time.  I feel like a rock star.   :band:

I think I just needed a break from Wheel of Fire, frankly.  I've started a new story, and I'm trucking along, and I think it's because it has allowed me to shift gears.  Also, this one's in first person, so maybe that helps.  I've always had an easier time writing in first person, though one might not think so due to most of my published stuff being in third.

Anyway, it was a productive session.  Yay for me.

I tend to go off on tangents when I write in first person.  I end up deleting a lot more words.

Also, third is better for switching between different POVs, or at least it is for me.  I've even tossed in some Omniscient Third on rare occasions, something that would be a bit more jarring when sandwiched between first-person scenes than between third-person scenes.

For the record, I like both equally.  I just like them for different reasons, and there's a time and place for each of them.  My first self-published story, Buddy, is in first-person.  Everything since has been in third.  Right now is the time again for first, it seems.  I'll ride this train for a little while and see where it takes me.

Jeff, for me the story determines first or third person.
I usually write third but first can be a very nice break indeed!  :dog1:

898. Ordered some books from the library on the Nuremberg trials. Going to go back to previous chapters and add some current events. Not going to be cheerful reading.

My thrillers are in first and everything else is in third.

1000 words exactly. Feels like I should get a prize for that nice round number. Oh wait, I did. The cover artist send over the first iteration and I don't think it needs much more. I really like it.

Once the cover is done I'll put the first three chapters on my website and get the preorder up. I will be needing help with the wordpress new editor I'm sure, not to mention the mail chimpy thing.

Cover will be done soon and I will put up a preorder and put the first 3 chapters on my website. It is only the second week of school, last week the kids went in for half a day, this week they are 100% home, working "independently" in the morning and zooming in the afternoon. It is an adjustment for all but as long as I keep adding to the story it will get finished eventually.

1096 - Have 6 pages to print out edit and add on to. Quiet afternoon here so hopefully I will get another session in.

Edit - 683 more and finished the chapter.  Next chapter will be the doctor making his house call. I am old enough to remember when sick kids didn't go to the doctor's office, they came to you.

I did pretty good this week. Next week the kids are home for their pod's remote week. I should be able to be just as productive, they are keeping them pretty busy. No excuses.  I don't really know but if the book is 100K long, I'm almost at 90%. I think it will be longer though. I decided to add the move across country to the end of this book.

I'm doing research on the Nuremberg trials now for my WIP. What's your story about if you don't mind me asking.

600 today, which seems like I should get a prize for such a nice round number. Broke 90K on the story too. You'd think 100K would be more important but for some reason I was focused on 90.

Amanda, I wrote my flash fiction this morning.  It's about an RAF pilot in 1940.

ETA: I'm also writing a short story/romance that takes place during Christmas 1939, where he meets his future wife.
