Help! I inadvertently wrote a Young Adult novel. Maybe.

Firstly, this is just a passing thought, not a strategy, I'm aware that novels should be written for specific markets.
Even so...
In my WIP I've created a pre-teen female character, who started out as a minor character but has become the heroine.
She has a pre-teen male friend who isn't a boyfriend, in the adult sense of the word.
It now occurs to me that because of these factors I could include it in the 'suitable for all ages' level on Kindle and other distributors.
However...
The story has another character, an adult female, who curses using the f-word.
But only three times, and only because she is stressed, because her life is in danger.
I wonder if this disqualifies the story from the 'suitable for all ages' category.
Oh, and I'm aware that pre-teens sometimes curse using the f-word.

That sounds like an adult novel to me. YA novels don't feature preteens. Middle grade novels don't feature adults.

Adult books can feature characters of any age.

YA novels are nearly always about characters aged 13-18, usually 15-18, since kids tend to read "older" not "younger."
