What made you remember a good story that you like?

Of all the stories that stand out and make you remember them, what was it that made you remember them?

It's usually due to how the different elements are intertwined, the whole being greater than the individual parts.

I added "The character's voice" as an option.  :)

Just recently, I remembered how much I love Charlotte's Web.
Great opening line: Where's Papa going with that axe?
Best ending line: It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both.
And everything in-between--plot, character, style. E.B. White is a master!
