Title: New Release Announcements.
Post by: TimothyEllis on October 21, 2018, 01:03:23 AM
Anyone can post their new release in this thread. The book should be less than a week old, with a maximum of 2 weeks. Day of release is best.

Rules: State the release date. Thumbnail should not be bigger than the one on Amazon's product page. Ideally, right click on Amazon's thumbnail, and use the image icon to insert it here. You can post the blurb if you want. You can post links to all places it is available. You may mention it is in KU. Only new release posts. No discussion please.

As an example, my last release. (although it is technically outside the range)

Crossover: Its a Jon Hunter thing. Released Oct 1 2018. In KU.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HXSRX6G (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HXSRX6G)

Jon Hunter is back. Whether he likes it or not!

Be careful what you ask for. A higher being might be listening.
It's been 2 days since Jon Hunter reset the timeline, by locking the Darkness away forever.
2 days of grateful rest. For him.
For the rest of the team, it feels like a year has passed, and they're stuck in a limbo they cannot escape.
Jane wants Jon to get back to work, and a higher power seems to want the same thing.
But Jon isn't ready yet, and Jane thinks he only needs a wakeup call.
But when has anything Jon Hunter related ever been as simple as a wakeup call?
Weird is normal for this team, but this is Crossover, and all you can say is…
…It's a Jon Hunter thing!

The Bakery on Gloomland Street: A Hallowind Cove Christmas Story
Release date: December 10
Genre: Cozy fantasy

Wide: Books2Read link (https://books2read.com/u/mKKnqB)

A legendary monster threatens Christmas…

It's Christmas time in the permanently fog-shrouded seaside town of Hallowind Cove, which is also known as the "Harbour of the Weird".

Rachel Hammersmith is new to Hallowind Cove and has recently taken over the bakery on Gloomland Street, after Marie Percht, the previous owner, retired.

However, Marie Percht didn't tell Rachel everything, when she retired. She didn't mention the fog, for starters, and she also didn't mention that her bakery plays a vital role during the Christmas season and not just as a provider of holiday cookies either.

For the Krampus, a yuletide monster from alpine folklore, is coming to Hallowind Cove. And the only thing that can keep him from wrecking the town and ruining Christmas are pastries baked according to a secret recipe. Unfortunately, Rachel has no idea what the recipe is.

However, with the help of fellow newcomer Paul MacQuarie, Rachel will bake up a storm to pacify Krampus and save Christmas.

This is a novelette of 9300 words or approximately 32 pages in the Hallowind Cove series, but may be read as a standalone.

Just Launched: Hunter's Terminus, book 2 in the Hunter Imperium series.

Tech and Magic must come together to survive!

Jon Hunter thinks he's done enough. But since when did he get any say in the matter?
15,000 people, 4 main stations, and 15 large ships, somewhere in the galaxy, unexpectedly looking for a new start.
Jon sees himself as their protector, at least until his people build their own new society, without him in charge.

Thorn has been waiting for Jon Hunter for 82 years.
3100 years ago, Thorn had to save humanity. One week ago, Jon did save humanity. Just different groups.
Both have done the impossible. Both are tired. Both want out.

But in a galaxy newly restored to an older and much more dangerous configuration, just how much rest can either of these men get?
Especially when the three powers in the galaxy don't want a fourth.
Is the galaxy's crossroad, Hunter's Terminus?

Jeff and Ethan, if you want a new release spotlight at the Speculative Fiction Showcase or the Indie Crime Scene respectively, let me know.

Meanwhile, I released a new story in my Silencer pulp series:

A Valentine for the Silencer
Release date: February 12, 2019
Genre: Pulp thriller

Valentine's Day 1938: All Richard Blakemore a.k.a. the masked crimefighter known only as the Silencer wants is to have a romantic dinner with his beautiful fiancée Constance Allen.

But on his way to his date, Richard happens upon a mugging in progress. Can he save the victim and make sure that young Thomas Walden has the chance to propose to his girlfriend? And will he make it to dinner with Constance on time?

This is a short Valentine's Day story of 7200 words or approx. 24 print pages in the Silencer series, but may be read as a standalone.

Wide: Books2Read link (http://books2read.com/u/bPZRx7)

And because Richard Blakemore, the protagonist of the Silencer series, is a pulp writer in the 1930s, I always thought it would be fun to see his fiction. And when I wrote a series of sword and sorcery stories last summer, the crazy idea was born to pass them off as the work of Richard Blakemore, forgotten pulp fiction writer of the 1930s, and write an introduction as the "editor" who rediscovered these stories.

I just published the first two stories in Thurvok series under Richard Blakemore's and my name, so here they are:

The Valley of the Man Vultures
Release date: February 4, 2019
Genre: Sword and sorcery

On his way to Krysh, a city of fabled riches, the sellsword Thurvok must first pass through the Valley of the Accursed Blood.

Traditionally, those travelling to Krysh make offerings at the temple at the entrance of the valley in exchange for protection on their journey. But Thurvok scoffs at such superstition and decides to continue his journey without any divine protection. His refusal to make an offering infuriates the temple priest Alberon who promptly curses Thurvok.

Thurvok is not much bothered by this – he does not believe in curses. However, the valley holds dangers that don't particularly care whether Thurvok believes in them or not.

This is a short story of 4400 words or 15 print pages in the Thurvok sword and sorcery series, but may be read as a standalone. Includes an introduction and afterword.

Wide: Books2Read link (https://books2read.com/u/ba00Yy)

The Tomb of the Undead Slaves
Release date: February 4, 2019
Genre: Sword and sorcery

The sellsword Thurvok and his friend and companion Meldom, thief, cutpurse and occasional assassin, venture into the Rusted Desert to seek the tomb of the ancient king Chagurdai and the legendary treasure supposedly hidden there.

But once Thurvok and Meldom venture into the tomb, they find that a treasure is not all that's buried there.

This is a short story of 4100 words or 13 print pages in the Tales of Thurvok sword and sorcery series, but may be read as a standalone. Includes an introduction and afterword.

I've just released the stand-alone novel, ZO. I almost never do give-aways, but what the heck, it's free to download from April 4 - 8 (if you're a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, please download via that, though :D )
Romantic suspense (but no graphic sex scenes) - could be 'time travel romance' or a study in mental illness.

ZO is 466 pages of friendship, romance, history, Geelong (Australia), Renaissance Florence, and the compelling question of, "Did it really happen?" Four famous Australians gather to help their childhood friend recover from an illness that has kept her away from them for over three decades. Now, as they turn sixty, they remember their childhood growing up in Geelong in the 1960s and 70s, and realise how important it is to have their best friend back in their lives. They sit and listen to her story, and it's either the greatest love story of the millennium, or a symptom of her mental disorder.
Sometimes, being a friend means you believe the impossible.
Sometimes, the happy endings belong not to the lovers, but the friends.

This is my first new release in two years. It's not a Christmas story. In fact it takes place in July.

On a lazy summer day, the sleepy little southern town of Joseph is rudely awakened with the news the body of a young man has been discovered in a nearby marsh … and there is no doubt that he did not die of natural causes.

Now, several elderly patients dressed only in hospital gowns are found wandering the streets of Joseph; filthy, starved and with no memory of where they’ve been or who they are, and no one has come forward to claim them. Can there be a connection between the lost seniors and the murdered man? It’s too much of a coincidence for reporter Michael Broderick.

But when an elderly woman is found sitting on the steps of a long-vacant Victorian mansion, Michael can’t help but wonder if she is the key to this puzzling mystery. Can she help him piece together what is happening or is she just as hopelessly confused as the other seniors?

With the help of Anna, his former high school classmate, Michael hopes to unravel the mystery, but it is more complicated than he expected. Even more unexpected is his growing attraction to Anna; a distraction he doesn’t need.

Michael must solve the murder, save the lost seniors and convince the woman of his dreams that, while he leaves her behind to pursue the story, he is worth waiting for.

Whew ... this book marks my goal of 3 books released in a year (tomorrow is my 1st-year-publishing birthday ):

Mother Savant is a sequel to my first book.

It is now 2244 and the all-female society of Arkite is on the brink of revolution. Only the return of the Mother Savant can hope to maintain order.

Savant Elise Jackson, Arkite’s supreme leader, is stricken with terrible grief over the recent loss of her lover. She has spent the last two years with her assistant, Sara, trying to repair and genetically engineer her lover’s damaged body and mind.

But the Viceroy of Pyramid City and her followers in the Savant Council have no interest in squandering the city’s resources for Elise’s personal gain. With the help of the mainframe AI, they will vie for power, even attempting collusion with Sara and sabotage.

And even if her enemies fail and Elise somehow manages to revive her lover, Elise knows she’ll have to vie for something she covets even more—her lover’s love. For Sara once loved her just as much, if not more.

I have a new Silencer story out:

The Heavy Hand of the Editor
Release date: January 29, 2020
Subgenre: Pulp thriller

New York City, 1938: Richard Blakemore, hardworking pulp writer by day and the masked vigilante only known as the Silencer by night, has faced many a horror in his day. But few of them can match the terror of the blank page. Especially since Donald A. Stuart, the upstart young editor of an upstart young magazine called Stunning Science Stories, has already rejected Richard's story "The Icy Cold of Space" four times.

Stuart demands changes that Richard does not want to make. Worse, he also holds Richard's story hostage. Unless Stuart permanently rejects the story, Richard cannot sell it elsewhere.

There are a lot of shady practices in the pulp business, but Stuart's actions are beyond the pale even for the wild west of publishing. And so the Silencer decides to pay Stuart a visit to put the fear of God into an editor who believes himself to be one.

This is a novelettes of 10800 words or approx. 38 print pages in the Silencer series, but may be read as a standalone.

Any resemblances to editors, writers and magazines living, dead or undead are entirely not coincidental.

While in space, horrifying news arrives. The Reliants have invented a doomsday weapon, a virus that targets the Agrarian genetic code. They begin deploying it, and Agrarians are killed by the billions. Jerry is tasked with using his electrokinesis to find the virus's production facility so that a coordinated attack can be made. It might be the only chance the Commonwealth gets before the galaxy's Agrarians are exterminated.

I have a new book release! Broomstick (paranormal romance) is available on Amazon and on KU April 28th.

(https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51CY-Db0pyL._SL300_.jpg) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086T63YCS)

I used to not believe in witches.

Until I enrolled in Dr. Alondra Johansen’s metaphysical history class. Bryce, Alondra’s super cute teaching assistant, told me my element sign is Earth. I am, in fact, a pragmatic sort of girl. My name is Cadence Hawthorne, but you can call me Katie.

Darkness fell over me and my family during my sophomore year. I thought maybe Alondra could help me with my grief and visions of ghosts. But there was this guy working with her, with a goatee and sardonic smile, who looked more like the devil than a professor. He did terrible things to my best friend, threatening my growing love for Bryce.

Do you believe in ghosts? How ‘bout witches? I do. See, it was at Hawthorne University that I learned all about them. Come take a look in my grimoire. I wrote it all down here in Broomstick.

Book Two of the Victorian House Mysteries.

A FAILURE TO PLAN

Mia and her friends, Jessica and Ashley, have a plan. A wonderful plan. They are going to rent the old Victorian house in downtown Joseph and live there and open their businesses there. But what’s that saying about the best laid plans?

As the legal problems mount, it is becoming obvious that someone wants them out of the Victorian, but they have no idea of who or why.

And the case of the lost and found seniors is anything but over as evidenced by another dead body on the property where the seniors had been held hostage and where Officer Charlie Gordon had been shot.

With a killer on the loose, and a connection to the abandoned seniors and the Victorian, Officer Gordon is assigned to guard the house and its occupants, among them, Tae Kwon Do black belt, Mia Broderick. Will she throw Charlie’s heart for a loop while he works to keep her safe? And will the killer find his way into the house despite Officer Gordon’s presence and the FBI to back him up?

I have two new books as I get back on the horse. (Warning: Books are kind of sexy. Not bad boys, but space heroes.)

(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51uPD3iBTIL.jpg)  (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08954KD2G/)

Sometimes a Hero has to be a villain to win.

Seraphina Medina is the first normal woman to hit the colony sector of Hidden Secret, and she packs a hellstorm of secrets herself.

Reeves, the town Hero, never touches sugar, but feels temptation for her sweetness. However, so does the villain who got to her first.

Hidden Secret is a colony area unlike any other, and finding a woman who will have a relationship is worth any amount of trouble. Whether Hero or villain, both want her. Both need her.

Both will play dirty to have her, but will they be able to handle her secrets too?

(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Gsu3fe1gL.jpg)  (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089FNT7P1/)
When a wolf Hero catches an intoxicating scent on a victim, he can become a villain himself.

Adventurer Hero is a saver of the world. Every human in the world loves the white wolf, but as he runs into a nineteen-year old with an intoxicating scent, his ideal world comes to a crash.

He knows what she is, and he can already see her frightening future becoming a plaything for other wolves in their dens if he doesn't save her. Yet he himself suffers from the same weakness.

Hero needs to be there for the planet's every emergency, and it's only a matter of time before he doesn't make it. Can he figure out a plan to save her before then, or is he doomed to keep ending up in her bedroom himself?

Book 1 of the new Project Wolves Series.
