Welcome to the forum.
This is a place for writers to discuss anything about writing, and readers to discuss books. To this end, various areas have been created to keep things on topic. Anything else can be discussed in the Off Topic areas.
The forum has 2 aspects to it. Public areas, and Member only areas.
In Public areas, everything you post will be indexed into Google and other search engines.
In Member only areas, post should be private. (If anyone discovers they are not, let me know.)
Choose wisely which area to post in. If you make a mistake or change your mind about where you made a new thread, contact me or a moderator to get it moved. If it appears obvious it is in the wrong place, it probably will be moved. If it gets moved and this bothers you, by all means ask us to move it back.
The only real rule here is to BE NICE. Although some areas will have their own rules, such as to avoid over-promotion and spam.

If you want to make suggestions for forum layout changes, use the area for this purpose.
If you have a problem, let me know. I cant fix what I dont know about.

I've campaigned there several time to get the writers area expanded, but they ignored all calls.

I feel sorry for those professionals who "gave VerticalScrape the benefit of the doubt." It looks like I -just- made the cutoff to have my account deleted. I suspect that this forum may be the future home for many kBoards refugees.

Work and life events had me step back from the writing world for two years or so, but I've got some actual me/writing time again and here I am. E-pub closings have left me with a sizeable backlist I'm staring to revise and hope to get back out there sooner than later. I hope to make some new writing friends and absorb some of your self-publishing wisdom.

Thanks for doing this Timothy. I'm not a huge poster over on KB, nor prob will I be here. I'm a - prefer my paid forum with team of awesome mods kinda gal. But I'm happy there's a place if KB sinks into the ocean because despite it's many faults its needed. Thank for taking this on! Grin

Good to see some avatars I recognise :cool: . I'm only posting so I can try out the smilies grint . :banana: . Please don't have too many. I used to correspond with a friend via Skype text and emoticons. We gave up using the emoticons because there were simply too many and it wasted time looking for the ones we wanted, and I didn't know what many of them were supposed to be :undecided:

I'm here. I made it. I loved WC for the mods and the authors so when you guys decamped, I followed. Many good people still there but I'll probably lurk. This will be my third time trying to settle into a forum that doesn't melt down on me. (first AW and now WC) Third time's the charm, right?
Thank you Timothy for making this happen and when we all get our bearings, hopefully a "many hands make light work" sort of thing will happen.

I'm mostly in Lurk Mode lately due to health issues and work, but I was watching the whole Kboards debacle and promptly deleted my signature, all pictures and blurbs, and have been slowly overwriting my 1100+ posts there.
It's nice to have the signature back AND be able to include all three of my pen names.

Okay. Everyone can relax… I’m here now. (←That was satire… actually, you can all snort now at my arrival. Grin) I would like to ditto-thank the forum owner/creator for establishing this site. May it grow, take off, succeed, and then flourish to a monster-level of bougie-ness you’d never envisioned! ;) You have my best wishes for a successful future; I'm looking forward to seeing it grow.
