Feel free to move this if it doesn't fit here.
As per my usual, I can never get the cover content right for Google Play. It's a jpeg file extension, the right size, but it's not going through. It's been a while since I uploaded anything. What am I doing wrong? Or can anyone offer advice on how to make this part smoother.
Thanks.

I had trouble with my last cover and reuploaded it. The second time worked, so not sure if there was something that went sideways with the upload on my end or on their end. (It was the exact same file both times.)
Give it a second chance and see if it works.

Just confirming you named it GKEY_frontcover.jpg, where GKEY is the unique code for your book?

I've never had any luck using the cover that Vellum generates for Google. It's been a while, but from memory it didn't think the quality of the image was good enough after Vellum has done whatever it does. I have to remember to go back to my original cover file and upload that version instead.

It loaded overnight. No idea what took so long. One of the many things that pee me off about GP is they never tell you what's wrong just that something needs attention. Grrrrr

Do you add that to the file before you upload the cover? Google eventually does it for me, but if this is something to save me a headache in the future, I'll do it.

Yes, they state explicitly that you have to upload a file with that name. I'm betting that's why it doesn't work.
The ebook file shouldn't matter, but to be safe I call it GKEY.epub. (I had one case where they attached the wrong ebook to a completely different title.)

You do NOT have to use the file name. They will rename it. If you are doing batches, they want it that way because it will make it easier to match things up, but I have never changed the file name and only had one image problem.
Also, Google does say exactly what's wrong. You have to click a link, but they let you know which file is causing problems and why.

They do? I'm not sure if I've seen that. Are you talking the old or new interface? (not like it changed much)

Brand new, but pretty sure it existed before the update.
