So i finally found an ad thats working (ish) for me.
I would like to up my rank slowly before my promo at the beginning of next month. I don't want to keep the ad spend up permanently.
Can I create a second ad with a different image but the same audience?
Will they compete with each other or help with the seven touches and enhance each other?

The theory is people who don't click on one image might click on the other. They don't really compete with one another, although it's possible the same person might be served the two different images and click on both. Your account won't drive up the price per click by having them compete with one another because they're on the same account (the same account can't compete with itself in the auction).
FB is unsophisticated in that they only let you have one image/tag per ad, so you're forced to use multiple ads and therefore give them more budget.
Google ads let you put up to 10 images and 5 tag lines (plus 5 descriptors/text) per single ad and one budget. The algos run through all the combinations, then feedback how each worked (best, average, worst).
I don't think AMS or BookBub PPC/click ads let you have multiple images like Google does. They make you run multiple ads (& therefore budgets) like FB does.
