Wrote 351 words for my newsletter and 350 words for the humorous space opera for today, which, for those that cannot do math, gives me a total of 701 words for the day.  And, yes, the newsletter words do count because it was poetry and a story.  Didn't count the conversational stuff nor the replies to the letters to the editor and all that.

I need 525 words tomorrow to hit 100,000 words for the year.

1091 - Last chapter and epilogue done. The last sentence needs a little more oomph, but that's something I typically come up with in editing.

So it's an accomplishment for sure, but with everything being so crappy I'm really not feeling much of a rush from it.
Weather is going to stink for the weekend so I will just pretend it's a weekday and start going back through it to sprinkle in a little more historical detail.

Happy New Year everyone.

For the humorous space opera, I wrote 1,125 words today which brings me to 100,951 words for the year which is a daily average of 275.82 words.  My worst month was November when I only wrote 2,234 words.  October was almost as bad with 2,920 words.  On the upside, those two bad months came after completing the serious space opera.  So, kind of coasted after that.  Best month was September with 24,450 words.

So, even though I missed one day of drawings, I did manage to write something every day of the year.  Worst day was December 11 with 4 words which would have been 5 if not for deleting a word during editing.  Best day was April 14 with 2,005 words.

Having completed (except for editing) the serious space opera and rolling some WIPs into either it or other projects, I am now down to 154 WIPs.  Given my word targets for each, at my current daily average, it will take me 50 years and two months to complete them.  At 1,000 words per day, I can finish in fourteen years.

Well, here it goes. Looking to be active in the Sanctum, and to offer myself up for accountability, I will be posting my daily work count for 2021.

Today I added 1,006 words to my WiP.

I would like to get my word production up to 2K/day, but I'm realistic enough to be happy with 50+ for now. Thank you for having me, and I look forward to see where this will take me.

Only 455 words so far today.  May try for more.  Would like to start out the new year with a thousand.  Also, have done a daily drawing (two, actually) and a daily photo (three, actually).

Okay, so up to 1,175 words for the day.  Wrote a short story, so doesn't count toward any WIP, but I'll use it in a newsletter.

Also did some editing in the serious space opera, working on the swear word consistency issue.  Think I've got it taken care of, but will find out on the (hopefully) final read-through.

Might have to write a poem to get over 1,000 words for the day.

Wrote 930 words for the humorous space opera today.  Seems to be a trend of coming up short of 1,000 words.  Will need to write a poem or short story later to hit 1,000 for the day.  Have done 1,000+ total words each day of the year so far.  Hope to keep it up.

Feel good tonight, got 1,020 added to the WiP. Might do more later, but not committing to that yet. I'm happy with my progress to start the year. Hoping that by building the habit with these numbers, I'll increase my production as the year goes along.

Hope everyone else is feeling productive. Happy writing!

I have a book of haikus started somewhere.

I have haikus, limericks, free form and more.

Not doing a poem a day though, because that would conflict with my goal to release a book of poetry in the second quarter of 2021.

With any luck, I'll have at least three books released this year: serious space opera, humorous space opera and poetry book.

I'm strictly haiku.

1091 today. Added it all to chapter nine. Sometimes it just feels so right; the chapter was half as long as it should be, the timing coincided with the start of the Nuremberg trials and the chapter ended with the character saying he had to keep checking the paper everyday. So I walked him over to the newstand, bought him a paper, sat him on a bench and voila the missing historical detail is sprinkled in. Couldn't have been easier, conahura, knock wood. Still got quite a bit more to do.

Wrote 1,065 words today, so far, all for the humorous space opera.  I'm at over 47k for one that was supposed to be about 30k (and done way before now).  But this is also the one that needs lots of reworking.  Some existing chapters may get removed entirely.

I got some sleep (unisom) so I feel like a new sponge right now.

Hang in there. Hope the funk clears soon. I try to change up my routine if I'm not psyched to do something. Start with the thing I do last. Or else set the timer and say I'll do X for fifteen minutes. Brains are weird. I know I'll feel better if I write or exercise, but I still fight it.

Yesterday I heard Sanjay Gupta talking on the radio. He said healthy food, exercise and good sleep are not just good for preventing disease down the road. They also make you happier. That's a lot of incentive for me, but the sleep thing is kind of out of my hands. Without sleep life is crap.

I don't know if I need them. I'm not sweating, except for when I exercise. I think it's just my nasal membranes and sinuses drying out and getting irritated. I'll try doing the saline spray a couple of times a day. Thanks for trying to help guys.

Still making progress though. Doubt I'll write more today but I'll try to do some more research for the next sprinkling of current events in another chapter.

1,209 words today. Best day of writing this year. I'm keeping a spreadsheet of my word count, it's fun seeing how many words I write in my WiP. Hoping to get my daily up over 2k sometime next month, or March at the latest. I hear repetition helps build endurance to increase word count. Only time will tell.
