Working so far! Just testing my sig, but it was painless copying the code across.

Okay, just one minor thing but a banner won't work as a sig (that's the max 150 width kicking in.) So, it's back to individual covers.

Good point. I'll change the width.

Edit: Width is now 1000

No problems with registration.  Now, I have to work on my signature cover display.   :smilie_zauber:

Registration worked, although I had my normal problem reading the captcha. Having it refresh worked. But trying to have it do the sound for it didn't. It took me to another page, but the page didn't have any sound and the play button didn't work. I'm on an iPad Pro, if that matters.

I haven't tried from an ipad yet. On the PC, sound pops up a box, and you have to click the link in the box to pop up a player. When you do hear it, it makes entering the code easy.

I'm not sure what happens on an ipad though.

I can tone down the captcha, as it has several levels of settings.

After that mess on KB where a certain person who was sued read one of my posts and sent the flying monkeys of 1 star and FB stalking doom at me, I went incognito, but I'm soooo tempted to get a pretty signature again. I love seeing everyone's books!

I am so glad to see this place up and running. I had only just signed up for the other place before the whole thing with the TOS erupted.

I'm almost to the point that fixing the TOS on the other site will be moot. The poor way that the new owners have handled such a resolvable situation has left a bad taste in my mouth...

On that note, I wonder if there is a better way of distinguishing between the public and private forums?  Once you're logged in, it's not as easy to tell and I'm guessing some people might want to limit their participation to the private areas.

I mean, I know the descriptions say "Public" and "Member only" but if there were a more visible way to distinguish them, I think that would be helpful.  Different colors?  Or maybe a notice above the "Post" button that tells you whether you're about to post in a public or private forum?

I don't know what, if any, options SMF might have for that.

My leaving that other site predates the whole TOS fiasco, but I still have an account there (though I have not logged in in months) and I do not like the TOS changes either.  I am probably going to follow Julie's lead; if she leaves tomorrow, I will too.  Well, not necessarily tomorrow but as soon as I get a chance to log in and send a request.

Edited to remove several paragraphs of my personal experience and opinions.

What's the preferred size and format?

The one I'm familiar with was on Skype but I would guess that may be a copyrighted design.  But, I think I might have one I made for my blog a few years ago.  I'll see if I can track it down (or create a new one).

That wave emoticon would come in real handy now.  LOL.

How are you?  I'm mostly not dead which I think is fairly good.
