Hey, everyone.
I’m starting a small proofreading business. It will sit alongside my writing and, for now, my regular part-time job. Initially, I will be quite limited by time constraints as to how much work I can take on.
Difficult to be sure until I start carrying out the work, but I estimate that I can turn around a 50,000-word manuscript within two weeks. I realise that’s not particularly fast, but I’d prefer to underestimate at this stage and make sure I give myself enough time to be able to carry out a thorough job.
For details of my credentials, cost, etc, please visit the new section of my website, here:
http://samkates.co.uk/proofreading-service/You’ll see that I will require a sample to proofread (at no charge). This is not only to benefit the author, but so that I can turn down manuscripts that I feel require more substantial editing. This service is aimed at authors who are otherwise ready to publish their work; it’s not for early drafts.
If you’re interested, please complete the contact form on the website and submit it with the sample of your manuscript.
