Oh, lord! The VW bus! It would shake at 65 mph, which back then was a typical speed on any highway. We had some good times, possibly because we were young and stupid. Somehow, we survived anyway.

In one of my books I wrote about the clutch cable snapping. It was so common that people kept a spare clutch cable in the vehicle. My characters, however, dug around in the back and found the previously snapped clutch cable.
