For those of you experiencing long covid or for those of you who know someone who is experiencing long covid, this article is good newsóalbeit Iím certain there will be at least a year or several years before they get any results. Still, itís good news.

And so it goes . . .

Reddit sells training data to unnamed AI company ahead of IPO
If you've posted on Reddit, you're likely feeding the future of AI.

"There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But alwaysó do not forget this, Winstonó always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot Reddit moderator stamping on a human face--forever."

I can't wait for the r/wallstreetsbets ai chat bot to help me make financial decisions and r/legaladvice ai to give me legal advice so I don't need a lawyer. I'm sure my life will improve dramatically from this.

That's a bit dramatic, and there's nothing new there at all.

Those changes were highlighted a while ago now.

The flood of drek is real. But the changes to search engines will need to run the gauntlet of consumer usage.

Those who want the sites, not the summary, will stay with whoever remains in the same model as now. If enough do, the new way might not work as well as they might expect.

Time will tell. I've seen no difference so far. And the only real place I'm seeing drek is Quora.

Excellent article calling it like it is, and well worth a read. Note: You may encounter a paywall.

A little humor, but it shows the road we're on with AI.

A new open AI is getting great reviews, supposedly it's better than what's current out there.

This Chinese Startup Is Winning the Open Source AI Race

I imagine at some point in time, I'm going to have to delve into how to use AI . . . but not for my writing.

Wow! Sadly, AI is making steady inroads, at least in the States. I canít comment on the rest of the world, maybe it is, maybe it isnít.

Though I donít have a membership in Samís Club, I am a member of Costco. Today, I read the following about Samís Club:

Samís Club customers will now have go through an AI, gate-like portal rather than having an employee check individual receipts at the door. ďEliminating even the few seconds it takes to scan a receipt at the exit door is well worth it,Ē an executive said.

I hope Costco doesnít go down this path!

I've seen this movie.   :icon_sad:
