I Drank The Kool-Aid

UPDATE

I'll sumarize in several "big bucket" areas.

The tool (functionality) - Usable but less than desireable. Support says version two is "any day now." Clearly, version one is a minimal viable product.

Process - Straightforward and intuaitive.  I did uncover, because it is my nature, several bugs that probably delayed the version two release.

Example, at one point I didn't like the logo I chose being on the results. I stepped back and deleted the logo. Three PROJECT, with FIFTEEN (15) draft ADs, dissappeared. The logo is required but you can manually, read that one-by-one, remove the logo from the draft ADs.

AD Results - Better than I expected with one BIG caveat. Only a PNG is available in version one. The caveat is this: I tweaked the results using photoshop.

Value - As a source for ideas, options, and size compliant AD graphics, yes, there is value.

Performance Results - I believe my CTR is above expectations. BUT, lots of impression and a solid CTR has NOT translated into sales.

Happy to answer any questions.  Also, I try to remember to screen shot the AD drafts and post it here for reference.

ORIGINAL POST

Marketing does not work on me... Sometimes, not often, every now and again... I saw an AD, not sure where, for a new company that uses a unique AI to create online ADs.

This is the company: AdCreative.AI

After a couple of days of trial and lots of error, I felt like I was a beta testing the tool. The support folks told me the second generation of their tool is a few weeks away.

That's the down side. The upside is kinda, sorta, damn it, those are nice ADs and the suggested text options are a good primer.

The steps for the AI tool are:

1 - Create a "Brand"
2 - Create a Project - Several steps for target platform, AD/Text tone, and descriptors
3 - Modify the output
4 - Download the results

Is it perfect?  Not even close. Does the tool give me a LOT to work with, yes.

I am a few hours away from beginning the downloads and creation of the campaigns, but it looks like something good may result.

What's the rule of marketing? If if doesn't work, try something else. This is something else... let's hope there is a positive ROI.

Happy to answer any questions.

R.C.

PS - If there is interest, when I download the ADs, I'll present them here.

As a Mac user, this doesn't impact me, but for windows users . . .

A few months ago, I was offered "prerelease access" to Windows Copilot.  I think, like most of the overhyped AI sites, Copilot is a good primer. By that I mean, type something, get a result, heavily edit into meeting the original request and give it tone in my "flavor."

There is not panacea... There is, however, pancetta on the charcuterie platter.

FYI:
OpenAI said on Wednesday that it was opening an app store for people to share customized versions of its popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT. With the GPT Store, the company hopes to turn its tech into an online platform that connects businesses and customers.

Wow! Sadly, AI is making steady inroads, at least in the States. I can’t comment on the rest of the world, maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.

Though I don’t have a membership in Sam’s Club, I am a member of Costco. Today, I read the following about Sam’s Club:

Sam’s Club customers will now have go through an AI, gate-like portal rather than having an employee check individual receipts at the door. “Eliminating even the few seconds it takes to scan a receipt at the exit door is well worth it,” an executive said.

I hope Costco doesn’t go down this path!

A new open AI is getting great reviews, supposedly it's better than what's current out there.

This Chinese Startup Is Winning the Open Source AI Race

I imagine at some point in time, I'm going to have to delve into how to use AI . . . but not for my writing.

A little humor, but it shows the road we're on with AI.
