Title: ACX easy newbie question
Post by: JK Lincoln on May 03, 2021, 03:53:29 AM
Is it good etiquette or "polite" to thank the people who sent in auditions . . . the ones you did not choose? Or is that generally not done? OR would it hurt if I did????

Do you mean unsolicited audition recordings of your book?

If so, I usually thank them simply because they've put some effort into their cold call. I also let them know that I'm not in the market for audio right now, but if I change my plans, then I'll get back to them.

I always respond to them if they send me a sample. It seems like a lot of work and I always feel flattered. Is that what you meant? I agree with Tweek, I'm not sure if you mean they sent you a sample cause they were looking at your book, or you were auditioning a bunch of narrators?

If you're auditioning them with a list of others for a project then ... I'm not sure. It's kinda like a rejection email then, which might appear more negative, anyway.
