1877 words today. I did write a little bit during dance yesterday and today I just locked myself in the bedroom and finished hand writing the chapter. Then I asked the kids to let me type it in and they obliged.

Unfortunately the MC is going to have to deal with one of his old demons again. I am sad for him, but he is really struggling. I'm trying to focus on enjoying the process and not worrying whether or not I'm ever going to publish again, sales being as dismal as they are.

My best sales season is Summer and I have absolutely no idea why. Of course sales are still dismal, but if I write it I'm going to publish it. I love the whole process but I hate marketing, and With sales as depressed as they are, I've quit spending (or throwing away) money on marketing.

Good work Maggie.

1504 today. I finally figured out what this book is about 40K words in. My poor characters, they are in for a rough time of it.

2191 today.  It's 100 degrees in the sun here. Kids go out for five minutes and come back in. Hiding in their rooms with their devices. Not good. But I was able to work.

239 words for a total of 12,434.

I'm just not sure where the story is going. I finished a scene which moved the story forward, and I know where that particular scenario is going. In fact, I know where the story is going to end Up, but I don't know how it's going to get there. Now I'm worried that I can't sustain the story through four books. The one I'm working on is book Three.
:writethink:  :icon_think:  :HB  :shrug :dizzy

I will get there.  :dog1:

In order to get where I'm going, I realized I needed to know where I've been. So I spent the entire day reading book 1, and I will spend tomorrow reading book 2.

I didn't get a clue from the first book but I'm hoping that I will get a clue from the second book. I know that they have a lot of legal problems in the second book and I need to know where things stand.

I read the second book and found several areas where I could follow up. Even found some mistakes. So I'll have to get my notes organized tomorrow and maybe I could write a few pages tomorrow night.

1544 today. I also listened to chapter 5 on read aloud yesterday. We have dance today, so I'll be sitting out writing in the heat and the recital is tomorrow (they are taping each class and making a video) so that will be more time I can write.

Really need to decide something about a cover and get moving on that.

1492 today.

Yesterday a new character showed up and I thought something really bad was going to have to happen to him, but I figured out how to tone it down and still make it work. Whew.

You are all doing so well!   :cheers

I haven't written much lately...but I've been doing all the other stuff (covers, promotions, social media, etc.) and I went wide! So far, I think it's a good choice.

A couple of months ago, I put all but three of my series back in KU. I only left the series that had the first book permafree. So far, sales between Amazon and D2D are almost neck and neck. I'm glad wide is working out for you.

I haven't been writing anything new all week, as well. But I have been busy doing writerly things. A friend of mine sent me five pages of suggestions to improve book 2 and I've been plugging them in. I've read books one and two, and found a lot of inconsistencies in the book I'm writing now. My plan is to correct that today. Hopefully I'll get back to writing tomorrow.

Inconsistencies corrected in book 3. Words added, words deleted for a total gain of 62 words. Now I just have to decide on the next scene.

I've been using my website, but I'm starting a newsletter for more "fun stuff" that readers might enjoy.

If I have to pay, I don't want a huge amount of people on my mailing list just wanting free stuff.  They can get that from following me on social media.  :smilie_zauber:
