There's a beta trial option in the Dashboard for its new look.
-
I'll check after I grab my torch and pitchfork.

First reports are favorable. It's colorful, to say the least.
-
My first impression is a thumb pointing skyward. :Tup2:
-
I'm not seeing it. :shrug

Looks neat, but where are the royalties $$ ?
I want to know how much I've earned in $$ amount, etc.

The sidebar on the left mentions royalties.
Welcome to the new KDP Reports beta! We’ll be adding more reports — including historical data for Sales, KENP Read, and Royalties — in the future, so stay tuned!
-
I took a quick peek. Very nice!

It's an improvement over the last iteration, but it's not as good as D2D's reporting. What I'd really like to see is a breakdown by series instead of individual titles, as well as total sales/royalties by book over a fixed period of time. The great thing about D2D is that you can arrange the data across variables other than date, whereas with KDP, the x-axis / dependent variable is always date.

Yes, the best thing about D2D reporting is the ability to customize the charts.

It's bloody awful! Far too busy, far too cluttered. And where is the link to download the spreadsheet?
This is the second change (albeit this is still only in beta -- I suppose I can pray it stays there) to reporting since I started publishing in 2016. Why Amazon insist on fixing things that are not broken I shall never know. God knows there is enough they could be working on...
-
It looks pretty, but if you have more than ten books and regularly sell in more than one marketplace, it quickly becomes cumbersome. The payment overview is missing as well.
I hope Amazon lets us keep the old dashboard and doesn't force everybody to use this one.

Tells me all I need to know. :cheers
I'll stick with the default until forced to change.

I thought I was in heaven the first time I noticed the "Chart Contents" tab and started playing around with it. And we can save custom charts? *drool* :littleclap
D2D really hit a home run with their Reports setup.

Had a brief look - looks good to me. Much more mobile friendly.
-
Had a quick look on my mobile. Looks good so far. Will have a proper look on my PC when I'm at work.
-
I hope they'll expand it to allow space for more than 10 books before we're forced to use it. The rest of mine are lumped together under 'other'. Maybe they ran out of colours!
I quite like the way you can see free and paid books together if you want. It makes me feel as if my permafree first in series is quite worthwhile.
-
10 books with the rest in other makes the whole thing totally useless for those of us with over 12 books.
And the whole display to me looks like sales porn. Its just a meaningless jumble of colour for the sake of adding colour, and totally meaningless across a month. The fact the display is not by months, but by last 30 days, is also meaningless.
Graphics programmers run amok for the sake of graphics programmers running amok.
This is just ridiculous, when what we wanted was a better version of Book Report.
-
Told 'em I was extremely dissatisfied.
What's wrong with showing a table of figures?
Show me the ASIN, the title, the number of sales and freebies, the royalty on each row.
Make the columns sortable.
Have tabs for each of the past 7 days of the week, a seven day sum, month to date, last month, year to date and ALL data.
That's what my reporting software does, and that's why my main concern with the new KDP dash is ...
Where's the spreadsheet download?
-

Aw, they're just trying to take your mind off all the glitches and screwups, why be hatin? Pretty colors... Pretty colors... What problem with your books not showing up for sale? Look at the pretty colors... Why, yes, we are letting all the nasty scammers sneak back in--oooooohhhhhh! Shiny!

Did you see that bunny hopping across the screen? :dog1:

I'm easily pleased - I just like the book icons and the pretty colours.
Meanwhile, how long has "Historical" been on our KDP dashboard?
I've only spotted it in the last week and it gives an overview of all sales right back to 2010 and all-time totals of royalties earned in all currencies.
Seeing the table of sales shows exactly when they peaked for me!

Historical has been there since the previous update. I'm keeping the old dash open because it has a lot more info. The graphs on the new dash are nice and I like the book icons because I don't have to run a report to see what sold that day, but there's a lot missing that we have on the old dash.

I just wanted to squee about it here for a moment! It's beautiful! I will never need bookreport again! It's... it's so easy to use and so useful and... OK crap... Wait. I just realized it won't tell you $ earned. Damn. Well, ok, it was perfect for a moment. Still, if they add in an earnings option instead of just unit sales it would be perfect and completely eliminate the need for bookreport. (Sorry, BookReport, love you, but prefer not having to use a 3rd party system.) Anyone else have thoughts on this?
ETA: It says royalties are on the list for things to be added soon. So that makes me happy.

Maybe, but it will only be for sales, because they wont want to project what the KU rate will be. So all you will get is sales $, which for a lot of people is 35% of their total. Which is basically useless.

Well, since I'm wide, that's all I need, so I'd be happy with that.

Ditto - if this is only the 30 day snapshot view and everything else is the same, then "whatever." But I don't want things any less granular than they presently are and I want a spreadsheet download.

I don't see sales $ anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. They aren’t there yet. The post you quoted pointed out they were coming, “in the future, so stay tuned!”

Oh right! TY!

Has the KDP beta dashboard been pulled down? I no longer can access. Found it a useful adjunct to the trad board, tho' neither really satisfies.
-
Having a lot of problems accessing the new dash on my tablet the last couple of days. URL not found. So I go into the old dash and access it from there. But today, I'm not even getting a message, just a wide black bar with white writing telling me about the dash.
-
I haven't been able to access the beta the last two days, which is frustrating because it made it easy to see which books were getting sales/reads without exporting an Excel report.

Exactly. :help :HB :rant
-
I'd guess they're making changes that took longer than expected. Either that, or the feedback was so negative that they're in the process of dropping it.

The old URL still works:
https://kdpreports.amazon.com/reports/kenpc

This one for sales: https://kdpreports.amazon.com/reports/sales
