LOL. I really thought you meant something like action adventure romance. If you call it that instead of steamy romance, you're going to come across as someone who does not know the genre and therefore probably shouldn't be used as an editor for those kinds of books.
I don't know the genre well. I've worked on maybe a dozen, but I always make it clear up front that it's not my primary genre. And if the author isn't happy with the work, I don't charge for it. So far everyone's been happy and hired me again.
I know I've heard the term "active" before but can't remember who used it. And yes, it's best to be completely clear about subgenre.
Which begs the question, is bratva romance a subgenre of mafia romance or just another version of it? And which are bully romances? Because all the male protagonists (they are not heroes in my opinion) in mob romances seem to be bullies.
Never read bratva or mafia. I'd give it a shot, but I would pass on anything that was overtly bully. I've mostly worked on vanilla fantasy, some shifter stuff, and m/m urban fantasy.
