Hah, no worries. "Active" romance is a polite term for "steamy" romance. At least...I think that's what it means. I like it because it feels like a broad term and I've worked a variety of stuff from mild to spicy.
LOL. I really thought you meant something like action adventure romance. If you call it that instead of steamy romance, you're going to come across as someone who does not know the genre and therefore probably shouldn't be used as an editor for those kinds of books.
I know I've heard the term "active" before but can't remember who used it. And yes, it's best to be completely clear about subgenre.
Which begs the question, is bratva romance a subgenre of mafia romance or just another version of it? And which are bully romances? Because all the male protagonists (they are not heroes in my opinion) in mob romances seem to be bullies.
