Ingram Spark - Automated ordering ???
PPetree:
Question: Has anyone figured out a way to electronically submit orders to Ingram Spark?
Background: As I'm sure everyone here knows, making a profit as an Indie is VERY difficult. Between the PoD and the booksellers if, when all is said and done, you can cobble together a buck-eighty then you've done well.
However, if you can sell directly without having to inventory then you can generate upwards of $8-$10 per copy and being able to do this without inventorying would be epic.
So, my thought is using Ingram for printing and distribution plus offering book sales through my website (under construction) and merchandise including mugs, t-shirts and other items through printful.com
Ingram Spark is the fly in my ointment as they're the only ones I can find who offer PoD hardback.
So, can Ingram Spark be automated or is there another source for PoD hardback with drop shipping?
TimothyEllis:
Amazon do PoD Hardback now, although I think it's still in beta.
Not sure if that helps though.
Wonder:
I believe Lulu does POD paperback and hardback as a dropshipper that can be integrated with your store.
Wonder
Cobbah:
B&N does paperback and hardback.
PPetree:
Thanks to everyone so far... Yes, all of those places do PoD and will drop ship. However, none of this solves the problem.
Problem/Process:
You go to a site and you order a book. Then you add a coffee mug to the cart. You check out. The order has to get split between different vendors. The book goes to the PoD book supplier and the coffee mug goes to the PoD coffee mug supplier.
NONE of the current book printing solutions off a method to accomplish this.
If I put everything for sale on Amazon (which I would do anyway), I will make about $1.80 per book and only pennies on the coffee mug. It's far more profitable to figure out how to process the orders and, via an automated script on the server, send the respective orders to the vendors.
