Ream Stories is having growing pains or a meltdown?
(1/1)
Lynn:
I don't know if anyone here uses Ream ( https://reamstories.com/ ) for serialization or subscriptions, but I got an email today from them that made me wonder what the heck was going on with them. I started looking around and it seems there's something big happening between the co-founders. Longtime CEO is out, and the current CEO is someone who posted a teary-eyed video explaining exactly nothing while trying to reassure current authors. I finished the video more confused than I was when I started watching it.
I hadn't uploaded anything there yet, but I had opened an account a month or so ago thinking I might try it out. Definitely holding off now.
Lorri Moulton:
Emilia (looks like her name is actually Destiny) and her husband founded Ream with Michael. For whatever reasons, Michael is no longer with them. There seems to be a lot of drama and that video was not easy to watch. I had already moved my membership to my Fourthwall store, and I'm no longer in the group.
Lynn:
I'll probably check back in on it later this year, but Ream isn't part of my plans any longer. I'm not willing to risk tying myself to a platform that is in the middle of something this messy.

I doubt it will be around much longer. This beyond messy and I don't see how it can last when the guy that did every single thing is gone. A shame. It seemed like a great alternative for steamy romance and erotica authors who found issues selling on sites like Patron.
Lynn:
Oh, I do know that the husband and wife team doesn't include Michael. He is the old CEO who was partners with the husband and wife team, I think.
Originally, I thought the same thing but after looking around I discovered that he is a third party. But that is one reason I said that that video left me more confused than I was before it started. Nothing was clear in it for those of us who aren't part of the community or who hadn't looked into the structure of the organization.
