I wrote 1,105 words today, which is short of the 1,919 I needed to get back on track which means I need to write 1,657 words tomorrow to catch up.

I forgot to write down my word count before I started (LOL) but I think I wrote about 1k today.  I finished Chapter 1 of the second part of my spy story.

If/when I ever combine it all into one book, I'll change the chapter numbers.  :smilie_zauber:

I think I wrote about 100 words in my current WIP but I also created my second draft of the blurb for the novella I am planning on releasing in late February :)

788 today. Goal had been 1,500. Still good, however. This is the worst month of the year for me at work, and I don't think I managed to write a single word last January I was so brain dead. I'm trying to fight through it this year.

I'm going to join in..

Thursday 383
Friday I got just over 1k
Saturday 2,058

Today I have so many plans who knows how many words well see, but my mom is threatening me with bodily harm if i dont finish the scene i made her read.

LOL. I suggest letting your mom read each chapter you start. Avoiding bodily harm from mom is quite the incentive to write fast.

Only 1,120 words for me today.  I had hoped to write more of the current scene and finish it, but I'm so tired right now I cannot keep going.  Had an early start today for work.

Today, I wrote a little over 600 words while sitting in the car waiting between stores. This shopping thing has become addictive. I mean seriously addictive.

On a side note, I almost finished mom's scene, but earned a serious glare when I told her it wasn't done. I might be needing to find another state to live in soon if I don't finish it.

I wrote 1,405 words today.  Despite the slow start for the month, this month's average daily word count is now higher than last month's average daily word count.  Not looking like it's going to be finished at the 80k word mark considering I'm currently at just under 74k and nowhere near the end though.  If I maintain my current daily average, I'll be at 90k by month's end.  I'm guessing I may need to be in the 100k-120k range now to reach the end, especially since I ended today's writing session by splitting up the main characters which means they now need to get back together again before facing the big bad.

I've managed to stick with my 50+ routine every day and took my 18,000 word languishing WIP to a completed 54,000 first draft in the last couple months. Now I'm writing some short fiction while letting the novel rest before editing.

It really works - I know I'm committed now.

Can I plug an app I just found for you "no matter what" writers out there? It's called Goal Meter (it's on Android...not sure about Apple). I love it!

First, you set your goal. Mine is to write 475,000 words this year. But, since I have already written close to 30k, I didn't want to skew the numbers and have a 30k writing day. So I subtracted what I had already wrote from my total and made my goal 444K words. (The app allows custom meters beyond the usual time or reps or miles, ect) See first pic.

Then you set a daily task to help you achieve your goal. In my case, I have to write around 1300 words every day. Then you assign the task to which goal you want to achieve. (Again, customizable!) See second pic.

At the end of the day, you click the task and say whether you achieved or failed at that task for the day. Whether you finished the task or not, you add however many words you wrote and it subtracts from your total goal. Third pic.

I love the app because it's customizable and does what I wanted when I started looking for a goal app...plus, it's got cute pictures in it instead of the usual boring text-based goal apps. I plan on adding some more goals like losing weight.

*Commerical over* Sorry, I just love this app and wanted to share. Here's a link if you're interested.
