That was interesting, Jeff. I'm going to send this to a friend who is using some special fonts for side effects to consider whether they're absolutely needed. Both my kids prefer physical books over the kindle though we have three of them :)

She just started it and loving it, Jeff.

Awesome.   :littleclap

A word of advice:  If she really gets into the classic SF of decades past, then it's only a matter of time before she gets around to Alfred Bester.  When that happens, if she decides to read The Demolished Man, it's important that she read a print version of it.  The digital version simply won't do.  The reason for this is that Bester used all kinds of weird font tricks in the book as subtle messages and symbolism, and the digital version doesn't accurately reproduce it.

I blogged about it a few years ago:

My girl's gone fishing in Alaska: https://vijayabodach.blogspot.com/2022/07/dagny-in-alaska.html

Did she actually read Canticle, or did she just put the book on the table to make for an interesting photo?  Props to her if she actually reads classic SF.

As far as I know, there are at least two Cthulhu TTRPGs (maybe more) — Call of Cthulhu from Chaosium and Achtung! Cthulhu from Modiphius Entertainment. I don't know much about Achtung!, though. Actually, there are so many interesting systems. Shadowrun, for example, where you can be an orc hacker in a cyberpunk world. Or Traveller.

Yeah, I don't know anything about any of that.  :(

And what’s your favorite system?

See above.  lol

Sorry, man, but I don't think I'll be doing this with you.  I just don't have the energy right now to tackle a new learning curve.  Good luck finding a group, though, and let us know how it goes.

As an aside, it's nice to see you post again, Dennis.  I hope you're doing well.  :)

Thank you. I hope you are well too.

I'm not familiar with Dungeons of Cthulhu, nor am I a D&D player.  Can you give me a YouTube link so I can see an example of what you're talking about?
