Universal book links
« on: March 17, 2023, 07:37:36 AM »
I usually use D2D. It's great, but I'm looking for another way. I vaguely recall someone here mentioning another service available for book links. D2D doesn't separate the links out, as far as I can tell, so if I enter a link with audio, it's displayed way at the bottom under ebooks. In order to separate out audio links from ebooks, I'm looking for another service. What do you all use (other than D2D)?

I don't have an answer, but I have the same question. I've considered spinning up a subdomain on my website to make my own referral links page, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

A non-public website subdomain is an option. But I like the layout of pre-made book link sites--cause I design everything myself and many times they're not as user friendly and nice looking as premade. Apple has a free universal link system called Booklinker. Anyone use that? I might look into that one.

I tried to separate out D2D to just audio but it still listed the ebook at the top of the page.

I used to use these folks. https://booklinker.com/

I haven't recently, but they are still there.

Their free plan includes several storefronts and directs international customers to the same store.

However, I don't see anything about audiobooks on their website, so it's probably not going to do you any good.

Also, it's supported by Apple, so you can use Apple affiliate codes, but not Amazon ones--unless you go with booklinker's paid geniuslink plan. And once you start that, you can't revert to the free plan, which means you'd lose your links and have to start over. Of course, this wouldn't be an issue unless you were an Amazon affiliate.

Yeah, they came up on my search and I was considering them. I'll investigate further regarding audio. Thanks!

Even when I click on 'audiobook' I get this...

https://books2read.com/spell-bound?format=ebook

But we can replace ebook with audiobook and get this...

https://books2read.com/spell-bound?format=audiobook

That should work!  (Forgive the link to one of my fairytales...wasn't sure how else to show this.)
