When? Could be any time in the next 72 hours.

Will you notice it? Hopefully not, but some downtime is to be expected. And maybe necessary to ensure no data loss. If the forum vanishes, or goes nuts, please do not be alarmed. Wait for it to return with as little self-harm as possible.

I'm told it can be a seamless transfer, but i dont think it will happen, given the issues on the current server. I think its most likely the forum will turned off for as long as it takes the domains to shift. And turned back on when I know its going to work properly. I dont know how long that will be at this stage.

I did too and then lost my post. Yesterday, I lost a pm. Looking forward to the new digs.

It's now running like lightning compared to before, so I assume the move has been completed.

It does feel zippier so either the move is complete or the old host was all like "please don't go" and stopped throttling the site or something.

Delighted the forum will move.

There's been a lot of white screen and '503' server overload. And for a brief time a while back there was some commercial writer's site, which was interesting but not this site.
This is the first time the site's remained up while I clicked the agreement, entered info and declared I'm not a bot. Was thrilling to finally see the 'not a bot' graphic. It's been mystery.

Even if the site goes down for a while, better accommodations will be better.
(Almost can't click post because I've got to watch the emojis. How does one choose?)

Sorry to disappoint, but the initial backups are still running.

I think this is going to take a lot longer than anticipated, since the current server appears to be the original IBM PC.

If things sped up a bit, it probably indicates the host completed their crash restores finally. But I'm guessing.

For now, cant do anything until the backups finish.

Excellent work and effort, and greatly appreciated. I never know when I get a 503 or 404 if it's our daily DoS attacks or a site problem. Either way, with a little patience, all comes to order.
