Author.email vs Substack - Your Experiences with Either?
« on: November 12, 2022, 12:40:50 AM »
I'm currently with Mailerlite (former MailChimp user) and considering moving to either substack or author.email. I'd be very interested in hearing experiences with both of these. For the moment, I have no plans to monetize things (one of the benefits of substack) and I typically send an email out once per month and I use automated multi-step campaigns for new signups.

Thanks in advance!

I use Substack. You are writing for two audiences: your own and others who might discover your feed. So, my articles try to catch the attention of both. I discuss a topic, usually science fiction related, with a catchy headline that might bring in someone new. Also remember these are stored online for the world to see forever, so nothing too personal should be in them. At the same time I try to reward long time subscribers with details about upcoming releases, sales and free days, things like that.

Hope that helps.
