I've set myself a target of 500 words every day in 2019. And it doesn't matter if those words are spread over more than one story (I have numerous wips).
I'm unofficially starting today and reached 936 words (spread over two different stories).
Nice start!
Ha, actually after that I didn't actually do the 500 words each day.
On the plus side, I wrote over 1.5k words, during a quiet spell at work, so that at least covers three days.
Words are words. It doesn't matter when you write them.
I find if I say I'm going to do this or that
every day, and then I miss a day or two, I get discouraged and give up. My only goal right now is to add on one or two more days a week of writing and I'm not even being specific about what day of the week. My only set in stone day to write is Sunday because I go to Panera for breakfast (spinach/artichoke souffle). That's my incentive.
So far, I haven't added the extra day, but I usually end up writing 2K every Sunday. The exception was this past Sunday when it was raining so badly, I couldn't get out of the house until lunchtime. Lunch was pretty bad and I ended up with 1339 words. Still it's words, but you can bet I won't be going there for lunch again. Souffles are my inspiration. Now I just need to find a weekday inspiration.
