I am considering doing a Robin Reads free promo for the first in my series. I think the price has gone up since the last time I checked. It's now $70 for the mystery or thriller categories. It's rather a lot of money (for me). Is it worth it? Does anybody have any experience with them, particularly in the free category?

Hey, I've ran two or three ads with them in the Free category over the years and for my stuff (epic fantasy) it was definitely worth it - can't recall exact numbers but it was around 1k each time with good sell through/ku reads.
Obviously, there's a few variables in my experience that won't precisely line up with thrillers etc, but I consider Robin Reads to be on a par with Freebooksy, ENT etc

It’s been a while now (Saturday 14th July, to be exact) since I had my only Robin Reads promo. It was for the permafree first of my British whodunit/cozy mystery series and cost $65.
I had 1584 downloads on the Saturday and another 276 on the Sunday. Well worth it, imho. Good luck.

I went back and checked on a promo I ran on a free book with Robin Reads where I didn't stack any other promos. This was back in November 2017, so it's been awhile. But on that book--first in series with no subsequent books published, plus its first run on Robin Reads--I had 2113 downloads.
I was really pleased. My book was romantic suspense and it was listed under the free steamy romance section.
Hope that helps even though the data is a nearly a year old.
