I have a new novel in the proofreading stage, but I'm not sure what genre/category it should go into. Romance for sure, but then what?
Here's the blurb: http://www.janajaneway.com/novels/LittleBigSecret.htm (http://www.janajaneway.com/novels/LittleBigSecret.htm)
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you're thinking in terms of KDP keywords, I suggest:
contemporary romance
second chances
secret baby

Keywords, yes, thank you, but also the category. Like, when you set up the book, you click, say, 'romance,' and then there's choices after that. I'm just trying to figure out how I should be categorizing it.

Have you searched on Amazon (or elsewhere) for romances similar to yours to see what categories they chose?
I think that would probably be your best bet.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. :undecided:

Thanks, Chrissy.

I'm far from an expert on categories and keywords (I avoid trying to shoehorn a book into a category just because it's perceived as underserved) as I tend to take a bookseller's approach to where my book "belongs" and categorize it accordingly. So with that big caveat out of the way...
I'd probably put it in:
Fiction>Romance>General
Fiction>Romance>Contemporary
Then, I'd add keywords specific to themes as Chrissy suggested.
Good luck! Your cover and site are beautiful.

Thank you, K! Much appreciated. I actually did the site and the cover myself! :)

Thank you! I did two of them myself. The other two were done for me. One was a combination of efforts. :)
