I tried boosting a Facebook post, about an ebook on sale, for the first time ever. It got nixed by Facebook, apparently because I'm not in the same country as the payment method. Well, I'm rarely in the same country as the payment method, so I'm not quite sure what to do. Anyone else living far from their home country who's having the same problem?

Get a VPN for the country of your "financial residence."

Agree with David. Get a VPN for your laptop or other device and activate it for your country of financial residence when you are using Facebook's ad platform or other services that require a credit card in your country of residence.
Some easy-to-use VPNs have a simple toggle and map; you just click the icon to get started, click on the country you want to tunnel to (i.e. the country where your credit card is based), and then toggle it on. You then use the browser or app with Facebook ads or other paid services like normal. You may be in Timbuktu but from FB's perspective your IP address location looks like Texas.
Did this over the summer while traveling overseas ... worked like a charm.

Any recommendations for VPNs?

Any recommendations for VPNs?
I'm actually in the market for a new VPN ... I have a Tunnelbear VPN subscription but it expires this month. They recently sold themselves to McAfee, a large U.S. company with a poor security and customer service track record. I really liked the Tunnelbear UI and cross-platform support, so if anyone has any alternative recommendations I'm all ears ...

I tried a VPN, a paid one at that: SmartProxyDNS. No luck. I'll try again.
