Only need 5 now . . .

There are 1087 registered members.
The "995" number only refers to the number of members who have posted. The other 92 are lurkers who have joined the forum but haven't made any posts yet.

Thanks for that clarification.

Thanks for that clarification.
:cheers
There have also been some deleted accounts--spammers, for example--but the number of those isn't displayed on the main page, so I don't know how many there are. And "registered" members is always going to be a different number than "active" members.
But yeah, it'll be cool to see that "1000" at the bottom. :icon_mrgreen:

I could get 1000 tattooed on my bottom. Would that help? (http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0221.gif) (http://yoursmiles.org/s-fun.php)

The member list shows 995 members and includes members with a post count of 0. :icon_think:

Yeah, I don't get that. :icon_think: If the "posts by" includes the members with zero posts, then that would mean the members who are only showing up in the 1087 count must be the deleted accounts. That sounds like an awful lot of deleted accounts, though.
Also, it would mean the deleted users' posts are still being counted, which seems weird.
Well, I'm thoroughly confused now. :dizzy

I just deleted 28 not activated accounts, where people have registered but never activated the account. It didn't change the number shown. There have been a lot of those, and I suspect not activated + spammers deleted + left the forum = the difference.

Two to go! Sitting at 998 members.

I split off the other discussion which took off after here.
To put it back on track, we are now at 1040.

Woo-hoo! Cracking the sound barrier next.
