I just bought more allergy tablets and I saw the company name on the strip:

Hetero Healthcare Ltd

I googled and saw it's an Indian company:

- Innovative Pharmaceutical Company in India

Hetero Healthcare Ltd is a leading Innovative Pharmaceutical Company in India, headquartered at Hyderabad. We aim to improve the quality life of the people …

I knew it couldn’t be the Indian branch of any western company. Imagine if any company in the US called itself Hetero. It would be like advertising they’re homophobic.

I can't imagine why they called themselves this. Maybe they think it means something like all over, for everyone. I bet they’re going by these definitions:

hetero-

prefix

1. different, other

heterochromatic

2. containing atoms of different kinds

heterocyclic
