:help As the title says, it clearly states when uploading a book to Amazon to choose up to two categories and I used to be able to do that. However, over the past year or so I have found it impossible. What happens is this: I choose a category, then I go to choose another and find that instead of adding it, it replaces the first one.
I've tried saving, coming out and going back in but nothing works. Any ideas? Or do I have to ask kdp? :dog1:

Sounds like a possible browser problem to me. Have you tried other browsers? Internet Explorer, for one, will often have issues like this across various Amazon pages.

I'm using Chrome. I've sometimes had to change to Edge to edit something as Chrome wouldn't sign in, but I don't have any other browsers on my laptop. Thanks for responding.

Download Firefox.
I refuse to even have an Edge icon showing. And I use Chrome as second browser.
Can you post a screen dump of what you see where it starts the category selection process?

I don't like Edge either, but neither do I like Firefox. I first tried to do this on my friend's computer, as it's her book. Then when it didn't upload properly, I did it again from here with Chrome. She has IE. But, it's the same as it's been for me for ages.
I don't know how to get a picture on here, but I can tell you it looks no different to what it always did. It just won't let me add two categories. I've gone back in and tried to add a second one after the book has published, but it does the same thing.

That's so frustrating - sounds like a case for KDP support. To be fair to KDP support, the couple of times I've had to email them they've sorted the problem out, although last time I think it took about a day to get a response.
Meantime, any chance you could access other categories through keywords?

That's what have been doing but it's very annoying. I know I used to be able to choose two categories and if it's only me having the problem not sure where else to turn but kdp. Thanks.

If you go to author central you can have them call you on a number you enter and a real person will adjust your categories to whatever you want. Takes 2-3 days for the change to go live but I've done it. I can't be 100% sure it works in the UK though. Good luck.
