I have a two book promotion coming up on Book Barbarian tomorrow, the 27th of April.
I edited the price of both books last night, about twenty hours ago. The second book is fine. The first book is still at it's original price, 4.99
On my dashboard, the book's button says "continue setup" and is greyed out so I cannot click on it which is what it usually looks like while you wait for a change to come into effect.
I sent an email to support - no response yet.
I phoned them and the guy said "Sorry it can take up to 72 hours, can't do anything"
Is it just bite my nails and wait time now? Hoping that the price will change?

Do you mean the KDP dashboard or something else?
Does it say, "LIVE UPDATES IN REVIEW"?
I changed a price this morning and it locked up when I went to save it. I had to close the window. When I reopened the bookshelf it says live updates in review, so I assume it took, but I am not on a deadline. Sorry for your stress.

notthatamanda, Yes sorry I mean the KDP dashboard.
Yes it does say "Live updates in review". Which is hopeful I guess?
I just have to forget about it now since there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.
Maybe I'll try meditating! :)

Well good luck. I had issues with D2D graying out like that, that's why I asked.
Personally I prefer worrying to meditating, it seems to work, 99% of the stuff I worry about never happens.
But you do you. Fingers crossed for ya.
-
Yes, hopefully it will still work out.
I've taken to changing prices for sales five days in advance. I've never had a problem, but I do know that KDP's time from submission of change to implementation of change can vary considerably.

I've seen different prices between the dash and the product page. Check the product page. I might be changed there even though the dash says not.

My price change that I put in 5 or so hours ago went through, looks okay on .com. I am in the US if that matters. Hope yours is all set now.

Just got the notification email that the book has been published. It took about 40 hours. So relieved! I have learned my lesson. Next time I will do the price change way, way earlier.
-
Good luck with the promo!

I'm sorry you had to worry about it but very glad to hear it was resolved in time.

Good luck with the promo grint
I also had a problem with the 'continue with setup'. It said I hadn't clicked on the 'publish' button after making changes, but I was sure I had. I clicked on the 'click here to finish, but nothing happened, I also couldn't do it over as it was in the awaiting stage and won't allow you to make any changes. This went on for a couple of days. I eventually contacted KDP. I didn't have a reply from them, but the book is suddenly now live again. ETA have just got the email grint. Must have been some sort of glitch :icon_rolleyes:

Updates to prices, etc, have been running super slow lately. Lots of people in Facebook groups are reporting the same problem. I put in a price change (raising the price after a promo) on Tuesday morning and it took until yesterday (Friday) evening to go through. And they're *still* "price-matching" it to the lower price, even though the price on all the other stores changed on Tuesday. >:( Glad yours finally went through.

Glad it worked out, Masha. Hope the promo pays off. Good luck! :cheers

Yes, price updates on Zon have been taking forever. I changed a price for a BookBub FOUR DAYS in advance recently. It did not go through until a couple of hours before the promotion started. I thought I was throwing money away by changing the price so early ... now I wish I had done it even earlier to avoid the heartburn. Moral, schedule price changes a good FIVE days in advance, until such time as the system pulls up its socks again.

Felix! I'd almost forgotten you were a member here. Nice to see you post again. :tup3b

Good advice. When I got my Bookbub deal, I immediately set about to making sure everything was ready to go at least two weeks before the promo. I was deathly afraid I'd screw something up, and I wasn't taking any chances. There are too many variables outside the author's control and too many ways for things to go sideways.
