Is that new or did I just not notice it before? I also saw one "Preorder" flag. I'm pretty sure I saw something for preorder before but now I can't remember.
Anyway, I am seeing a lot of "Just released" in the top spots. Not sure if that is a bidding thing or if Amazon is assigning extra relevancy to new books. That was in psych thrillers, I checked romance and it didn't seem as dominant.
Not complaining or worried, just always trying to crack the AMS/AA secret code.

I've seen the just released banner for a while now, but I didn't notice whether or not such books were hitting the top spots. We know Amazon gives new books a little bump. We also know a lot of authors promote a new release heavily, so that may be the reason. Amazon doesn't necessarily have to be doing something extra special.

I sometimes get those Just Released flags on books that have actually been out a couple months. Dunno why, but if they make readers take a second look that's gotta be a good thing.

I think it's been most of the year those flags have been there. And AMS tends to favor new books so no surprise that a lot of those would be in the top spots.
