Title: Bookbub Featured Deal Question
Post by: Trioxin 245 on August 05, 2019, 07:16:33 PM
Hello everyone, its been awhile. I have an up coming Bookbub featured deal for a book and I am not sure what to do with my back-list.

So under this pen name I have two series and both are in KU. Series 1 Book 1 will be free but my question concerns series 2.  I have the box set ready to go for series 2 and was wondering should I publish it and then have it as one of the links in the front/back matter of free book 1? Or should I wait for the readers to work their way through?
If I do publish the boxset, should I discount it all the way to 99cents? This would give it a nice boost in rankings and some stickiness for later page reads. Not sure what to do and any advice is welcomed.

Congrats on the Bookbub!!

If you haven't already done so, having a list of all your books in the back of each one, with a clickable link to each of the other books, would be useful, I think - I appreciate that it's a pest, and takes ages to do, but I think it does give readers an easy way of identifying more of your books, if they like the one they've just read.

On the box set, I'd be tempted to publish it (or put it on pre-order if it's not ready yet) and, again, make sure there are links in your current books.  My view - with no market data behind me - would be to publish the box set at the price you were originally planning, and you can then offer a discount / sale on that later (from comments by other authors, Bookbub likes heavy discounts and good deals for its subscribers, so offering a box set at a discount often goes down well.)

Hope it goes well for you.
