I just finished my very first book. Well technically it's the 6th book in my series, but it's the first book I've completed. I finished writing a book. Though it still needs 17million typos removed and to be edited, but finished a book. Its been a year and ten months since I started writing. I've had a few people tell me writing the way I do I'll never finish a book.
This is how I feel!!!!

Well done! I bet that's a great feeling of relief.

Well done! Give yourself a pat on the back, pour a glass of your tipple of choice - and get on with the next one!

I'm a little confused, though. Did you write five previous books that you failed to finish? Or did you start with book 6 of the series and will write the other books later?
-
Congratulations!!!
You know it gets easier from here, right? I mean, it's not really easy, but once you've finished one, you know you can do it!

I don't write sequentially. I write as the muse hits. I've started most of the books in my 73 book series though a few are just ideas in my head since I haven't met the characters yet. I have books with 5k written all the way to 50k done in them. I hop around a lot. The end of last month I noticed that I only needed 24k to finish this book and decided to see if I could get my muse to let me finish a book. This was huge challenge and 24k turned into like 46k. By the time I was done the end of book 5 moved so that book 6 isn't 90k when all the others are 70k.
I'm going to try to finish book 5 this month since I only have 20k left and I can do that in 5 days, but my muse might need a break to explore new things. We'll see.
Only 14 more book till I start publishing!

Congratulations. Few people who want to write a book ever finish
73 book series?
14 books b4 you publish??
You do realize your muse may be keeping you from getting your work out there out of fear of what readers will think of your work? :icon_think:

Actually the 14 books are part of my marketing plan. I write romance. Rapid release helps with visibility. Currently I am writing between 60-80k a month but I don't want to stress myself out with deadlines. I am stocking books away for a consistent rapid release plan. To take the pressure off of me I want to have 15 books ready before I start. Plus not writing sequentially makes it virtually impossible to finish the specific book I need each month for release.
The 73 books is insanity pure and simple.

Yeah, that first "The End" is pretty special. One down, on to the next, that's the writer's life. And how sweet it is.
-
You've done what possibly millions of others failed to do - you finished!
That is indeed a worthy cause to celebrate.

May I add my big CONGRATULATIONS! Your first milestone, soon to be joined by many more. When I started a little over 2 years ago, I had only one person to offer congrats and he was a struggling first time author as well. You now have a community of well-wishers. Keep on writing!
