Looked at the price and changed my mind to free. (It's a four-book series with good sell-through)
Whew. Was an HF 99¢ promo already over a thousand bucks and I'd just forgotten or did it go up again?
-
I think it got that high this fall.
Some poor guy on the other board just had a disastrous Sci-Fi 99 cent promo. I'm with Lily on bookbub now. I don't even apply anymore.
-
You might as well apply. Not like it costs anything. I admit that a string of refusals is a little discouraging.

I lost 60 bucks on my Intl 99 cent bookbub in October, but the real disaster was losing the momentum selling the book full price.
I know that my read throughs aren't strong enough to make back the cost of the promo on the "average" downloads if I got one for either of my first in series free.
I honestly don't want one anymore, and it's a relief. Best of luck to everyone else.

I had a very poor International one as well, but that has no relation to my results in the US. I have decided that I won't accept another International.
They cost enough that it's important to give thought to whether the sell-through will justify the cost and it may not for everyone.

I lowered the price in the US as well, figuring that I would get some decent sales as I did with my first int'l Bookbub. So it's all on me, but I am not happy with me.

I wouldn't do an international Bookbub under any circumstances; my books are too U.S.-focused to sell well overseas. I tested the UK market with Amazon Ads, and it was a bust. I doubt the German market is panting for contemporary Western romances, either. I do get the occasional sale in Australia. No way of knowing about Canada since Canadian apparently can use the U.S. store to shop.
