Post a link to one, or post it here, and I'll check it out.

JJ! What up, dude? welcome to the new place.
Thanks! Haven't heard anyone call me JJ since high school, lol. What up? Writing, reading, the usual. Working my way through my TBR pile and wondering how so many westerns got in there and what I should do about that.

Not all registered members have posted. Hover the mouse over a member's user name and see the number at the end of the link. That's the member number.
Of course, some of those members are just spammers and have been banned, so the current tally is less than the member numbers. But the 600th person to join will still be the 600th person to join regardless of who gets banned.
It's science. :icon_mrgreen:
ETA: For example, if you hover the mouse cursor over my name in my profile, you'll see a "33" at the end of the link. I'm member #33.

No spammers have been harmed in the making of this site. All the usernames are still there. None deleted. Just banned.
No usernames have been deleted at all so far.

'It's a good start.
I'm not stalking, but it's good to see Lexi here who I remember from my Authonomy forum days and we seem to have followed each other around the forums over the years.
For this to really work, I'd like to see all the members marketing the site on the various facebook author groups and other social media like twitter. Maybe someone would be good enough to provide some graphics for posts on social media that we can put out for re tweets to get the message out there. Even a graphic as simple as "I'm a WriterSanctum forum author" badge would be useful.
I've lost so many friends and contacts over the years with author forum sites closing down or not taking off and each time the numbers diminish as members fragment to different sites.

Great idea.
But hold off on the word spreading for a few days, until the forum is settled in its new home. No point in attracting people here during the move.
After, definitely.

The best way would be to have a kick off date for facebook groups and twitter once the site has settled in. I know I have one facebook group with over 1000 members, and I have the same on twitter.

This is so encouraging! I was just staring at my screen in horror and dismay when everything went down at Kboards. I feel like I'm regaining my balance, seeing this forum up, running, and growing. I didn't post much, but lurked on Kboards since 2011.

I'd love to see a table of prolific posters vs daily/weekly fiction wordcount ;-) Not being snarky in the slightest, I just like data.
I was shocked to see how many posts I've made, and I was trying to figure out how much more fiction I'd have written if I deleted the URL from my bookmarks.
Not going to happen. I spend far more time watching streaming TV than posting here, so that would get the cut first.

I wish there were a solution to that. Today I wanted to review a thread on new releases, and I can't remember whether it's on Kboards or here. I will have to search both forums.

On your last post, mouse over your name top left, and look at the url displayed absolute bottom left of the browser window. the number at the end is yours.

A Quick and Dirty Comparison
Recently I posted the exact same question on both forums.
On KBoards, I got 135 views and 0 replies.
Here on WS, I got 127 views and 6 replies.
That result is just one data point, and subject to chance, but it suggests that despite fewer members, WS is more enthusiastic.

I turned in a book last night so feel extra good about procrastinating here :) Then I'm going to finish a book so I don't have to pay a library fine.

What I like the most about this forum is how it was founded, all the wonderful arguments around the ethics of the revised terms and conditions. :tup3b :Tup2: That thread at the parent forum defines the sensitivities of those who are present here.
I don't judge a forum by membership count or total posts but rather by the sensitivities they display as it turned out with that epic thread.
Nobody would have imagined these things would happen this year.
Hope 2019 becomes a big year for this recently founded forum. :cheers

Lucky #7 here. Timothy, how the blazes do you end up being #3 on your own site? Who is numero uno if not you?

Lucky #7 here. Timothy, how the blazes do you end up being #3 on your own site? Who is numero uno if not you?
Profile #2 is OrbitalNuke, which, if I recall correctly, Timothy has already said is one of his alternate accounts. Profile #1 returns an error message when I try to put it into the URL field of my browser, so I guess that's the "super administrator" account, or whatever the software's equivalent is.

That sounds about right. Originally I wasn't going to admin off my own name, but it happened anyway on about the 2nd reload. OrbitalNuke is my moderator account, which I use for checking how the forum looks to the mods. Forum_scout is my member level account so I can see what the members see. But that one was created much later.
