Title: Treasure Hunt Books - Thoughts?

I remember Masquerade from decades ago and a couple of other treasure hunt books.
What are your thoughts on them?
It is a marketing idea for sure.

Several people died searching for the treasure, and others were arrested for damaging cultural artifacts.
