Title: Photobucket has put its logo across all my pics
Post by: Jan Hurst-Nicholson on April 25, 2020, 01:28:31 AM
Photobucket has sent me an email to say that it will no longer allow hosting on its free platform. That's ok. But I see that all the pics I've used in the past now have a huge Photobucket logo splashed across the ones I've been posting for the last x numbers of years.  :icon_sad:

If you want to share photos on the internet, my recommendation is Imgur.

Frankly, I'd avoid Photobucket just on general principle.  They broke half the internet a few years ago when they changed their price model.  Lots of forum threads--including valuable instructional threads--are still semi-useless because of them.

Thanks  :Tup2:. I'll give them a try.

I would think that Photobucket would honor its original terms used when you uploaded your photos. Which you understood to mean free posting with no watermark logos.
I recall another site that changed its TOS without prior warning and caused several members to drop out.

They've sent me at least four emails telling me that free hosting is no longer available and the price for using it. The only time I really used it was to put posts here and on the KBoards, so I won't be paying and will use one of the other free ones if needs be.

The attach function here allows you to upload. The image appears at the bottom of the message.

That's good to know  :Tup2:. It will save a lot of bother.

Photobucket has been doing this for years now. I'm surprised you got past it for so long! Unless you pay, you don't get to post pics without them either graying it/blurring it and putting the logo on it. It's really annoying when I'm researching something, and all the pics are either gone, or can't be seen.

It is a couple of years since I used it  :icon_rolleyes: .
