Title: Fussy Librarian - Free Ebook Results
Post by: Lorri Moulton on May 26, 2020, 08:48:54 AM
I listed one of my ebooks today on Fussy Librarian and I have 1,225 downloads so far.  Is this fairly normal?  How does it compare with a BookBub?  (The ebook is #72 in Free Kindle store right now.)

Is BookBub amazingly better?  Thank you!

What genre is it? Fussy Librarian is great, but it's no where near the numbers with BB--though BB is of course much more expensive. I personally don't run free with Fussy, yet, but it sounds like your numbers are in the good range. Others might chime in.

BookBub actually charts their "average sales" here (people have reported less, but even less is still impressive):

Love the cover. Looks like you're in the top 100 for free. Good luck on the rest of your sale!

Well done! Those seem like good results to me - I listed one of my books (fantasy) on a few promo sites a few months ago, and got about 800 downloads on the Fussy Librarian day, which I was pretty happy with.

From what I can gather, Bookbub, if you can get it, is just an order of magnitude more powerful - with downloads into five figures for many people.

If you haven't done so, my best results from using my free KU days have come from "stacking" promo sites over a few days. Not only do I seem to get a few more downloads overall, I also have a nice tail of page reads.

I have my clean/sweet fairytale free today and advertised again with Fussy Librarian.  1016 downloads so far!  :smilie_zauber:

The Fussy Librarian folks are nice, their ads very cheap, and they do give some results as you've seen. They give good value for the money.

Yes, BookBub is amazingly better. They aren't even in the same ballpark. On the other hand, they are also much more expensive and it's not easy to get a promotion there. I have never done a US promotion with BookBub (and I've done more than a dozen over the years) that didn't go into the five figures.

Congrats again, Lorri! You're making me consider free promos.

I did a 99c sale with Fussy yesterday. Can't say I did well from them 'cause I stacked promos like mad, but Fussy's always performed well for me.

I did a free run at the end of March and got 777 downloads on my Fussy Librarian day. I'm happy with that. It was for horror comedy, but listed as fantasy.

The book ended up #1 in Fairy Tale Fantasy and #1 in Mythology & Folk Tales...so I'm happy with the results!  It's still in the top 10 for FREE books in both categories.  :dog1:
