Title: Amazon Ads: WHERE ARE THEY?
Post by: Indiecognito on July 06, 2020, 05:30:58 AM
Howdy,

I've been using Amazon sponsored ads with some nice success for months (KU books, fairly substantial series, advertising first in series via ads). But Amazon has once again been tweaking things and I'm seeing:

*Based on your browsing history
*Books you may enjoy
*Also Boughts
*Bestsellers in Kindle Ebooks

The only actual paid ad I'm seeing anymore on book pages is the one on the right side, featuring one book at a time. Are sponsored ads simply gone for everyone, or is this an A/B test thing?

Seriously considering stopping my daily spending in favour of just sitting back and hoping the also bought etc. take care of everything.

Anyone have any observations based on the current state of affairs?

Huh, I'm in the US and on my book page I see

Books you may like
Sponsored ads

Product review & details

Sponsored ads

Customer reviews

Also boughts
Also reads

I don't have any advice for you. I gave up on AMS a while ago but I thought I'd mention the ad carousels are there.

Thanks! That's very helpful.

It's possible that I'm simply not seeing them on .com because I'm in Canada. That said, I've ALWAYS seen them on .com (that's how I monitor my ad placement etc), so it's very odd. Possible that Amazon is trying to pinpoint the ad placements and not waste them on people in the "wrong" country, as I do shop on .ca

I think that changed a while ago.

In Australia, I see no AMS ads either.

Interesting. I've been seeing them up until recently. Don't get me wrong; as a reader, I like what Amazon's offering me. But as someone spending money on ads, I like being able to see where they're hitting. Thanks for the input!
