I seem to recall feedback that these did not do well, but that was some time ago. Has anyone done well with one of these?

To answer my own question, I paid for one and appear to have made my money back, but not much more than that. Still it is a good start and pushed it up the rankings.

Thanks for the info and congratulations. Do you think the book did better on release with it than it would have without it? How does it compare to other new releases?

Yes, this is good to know. I might consider one for my next release. My current release is too niche to bother.

It hasn't released yet. It has had more pre-orders than it would have without it though.

And it paid for itself and at least a couple of dollars more.

From what I've read on Facebook the reviews are mixed and really have to do more with the price point. People that made the most all seemed to price within the .99 cent range.
I am going to try for one, but I don't know if they will take unknowns.

May I ask did you stick with your regular full price or did you mark down a bit for the pre release?

I priced mine at 2.99 but that's low for historical fiction. (which reminds me it's time to raise the price. It will normally be 4.99)
