Title: New in Books Book Launch Package
Post by: JRTomlin on August 03, 2020, 02:11:27 PM
Has anyone used it? Thoughts? Experience?

https://www.newinbooks.com/advertise-new-book-2/

ETA: It's part of Written Word Media which is generally has good services in my experience, but I find the description a bit vague.

Agree that the "marketing and promo placements" line has no details, so the question is, what would they be? I assume those are why the price for the service varies from $299-$499. On the good side, it could mean you could choose the promo sites to buy into that you think would work best for your book. But how many? Why not ask for a detailed breakdown?

I don't see a link for asking questions.

An easier way to see if it works is to sign up for the newsletter as a reader and maybe check their articles and see how the books are doing. From the little I saw, New in Books is quite useless, but I signed up and I'll keep taking a look at what happens.

Edit: Some fantasy books are actually doing well, but it's hard to know if it's just because of New In books.

I have serious doubt it would do well for Historical Fiction since they don't have a specific HF list. Mystery or Romance would be more likely to benefit, I suspect.

I've used it. Of course Written Word Media is legit. They add a couple of interesting things like posting in local newspapers and entering some blogs. They place your book in all the written media promos and Newinbooks. But what I have since considered is what if I had just entered each promo individually? It's a high cost.

I didn't question whether they were legit.

I'm strongly considering trying it out for an upcoming release of a three-book box set. I haven't done a ton of promo on the individual books, but it could potentially be worthwhile to shell out a bit to get eyes on the set, which will be in KU.
