Dalton Trumbo's writing space is a lot like Waldo Lydecker's.

JD Salinger must be immune to mosquito bites.

And just a couple of the quotes that I liked

Leo Tolstoy:  “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”

Somerset Maugham:  “There are three rules for writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.”

The room where the characters of Robert E. Howard spilled forth onto the page with such furious vitality.

"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet."

Now that's a writing room. Although I notice most of them have a cramped little space just like I do.

I adored this room when I toured his home in Scotland. The room is not large, but it's perfect for a book lover and writer. I of course would have some serious overhead lighting installed.

I'm quite envious.  I'd love to see that place in person.

The UK on a shoestring, many years ago, although that was a day tour that originated in Edinburgh, one of the few I forked over money for. Otherwise it was Britrailpass, tubes, buses, and shanks mare.
