So, I'm a guy. My wife just carried out a short arms check on me and confirmed (veterans will know what I mean). Yet my newest book, which came out in the last 24 hours has this ranking on Amazon Canada:

You should track down the #14 Canadian woman writer and let her know. Then report back. :hehe

You're now at #10! Someone named John Hunt is #11, so it seems their algorithm isn't that sharp.
You're in good company with Margaret Atwood and Alice Munro, anyway.

The late Richard Wagamese is also on that list, along with several other male authors. :shrug

If they set up a Jewish Woman Writers rank I may have a shot, if the algors can figure out I'm Jewish and a woman.
How 'bout a 50+ category.

Those categories are often derived automatically from the keywords you use.
I put something like video or media in my keywords once, for no good reason, and ended up in the media tie-ins category.

The algorithm thinks all Canadians are female, maybe (which would have interesting results in population growth). 🤷
