Hi all! I just wanted to suss out if this would be okay or not. I've been approached to be included in a Book Rabbit bundle. However, the book they are interested in is permafree (and wide). Is it okay to include a permafree book in a bundle or box set? Or is that a violation of Amazon's TOS? (I can't see at the moment where this is addressed.) And even if it's not a violation, would having a free book as part of a paid set cause Amazon to price-match my book back to paid? I'd like to keep the book free, so I can certainly turn the bundle down, but I just thought it was cool that someone wanted to include me. :)

Absolutely not if the bundle is in ku

Your question isn't clear. If your book is free, Amazon can't price match it any further. Do you mean, can Amazon price match the entire bundle to free if there's a permafree book in it? Doubtful.
However, since your permafree is wide, you can't join a bundle that would be in Kindle Unlimited. That would be against Amazon's TOS; KU is for Amazon-exclusive books only.
Or am I misunderstanding your questions? :dizzy

Thanks, LilyBLily. Sorry--I was wondering if Amazon might make my permafree book paid again--if it sees that it's part of a paid bundle, would they put the price of the bundle on the standalone book? And the bundle would also be wide. :)

You do need to check if the bundle is going into KU.
If it is, you can't put in any book which is wide. And the contract MUST specify that no-one can put their book wide until after the bundle comes out of KU.
If it isn't, then you can put your permafree in. It depends on how many permafree's are in the paid bundle as to if being paid will make readers happy or not. One or two won't matter. Most of them, will.
Amazon will see your permafree and the bundle as 2 different books. So price matching is not going happen.

Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate your sharing your knowledge and expertise.

I had a permafree book in a boxed set for 7 years, no problem. The box set was wide that whole time.

Thanks very much, Simon!
