...or maybe it is another waste of advertising ducats. A quick update re: video marketing.
PART ONE
I created a short video advertisement (https://youtu.be/enRjhS4VmSo), ran it on the FB, and offered book one as a giveaway on the release day of book two.
In the early returns, the pollsters appear to have erred. Thus far, 2436 downloads, but the pace has slowed.
The Zon numbers for the freebie are impressive (for me):
Sales Rank: 760 (down over 300k)
Best Sellers Rank: #60 Free in Kindle Store (See Top 100 in Kindle Store)
#2 in Science Fiction Adventure
#2 in Alien Invasion Science Fiction eBooks
#2 in Space Opera Science Fiction (Kindle Store)
Also this, but I do not believe it is accurate: #62 Paid in Kindle Store
The upside is I am seeing a lot of associated traffic on my other books.
PART TWO
Several weeks ago, I created a video advertisement (https://youtu.be/uZo36saQcOs) ran it on both the FB and the Googs.
The feedback has been terrific. (Yes, there are a ton of 'out there' comments about the pandemic and a deadly vaccine.)
Sales of the book are up slightly with the KUs and KENP reads both spiking.
Relevant data point: CPC $.06 CTR 14.56%
SUMMARY
Video ads work when they hit the correct demographic.
Soon, I will break even and maybe, could be, I might, make a few ducats.

Encouraging results esp since the first ad is not really easy to read. Black text on black background is not good a good idea even with white around it. The font is also not easy to read and not Scifi either. Second video is much better and much more intriguing with the 'How do you kill 6 billion people'. Now that's a great way to start it. Short and to the point. Great job there.
Hope this testing will continue. Video ads seem to be the next thing, since most are already to doing image ads.

Thanks. I have cleaned up the ADs and stopped some of those that were underperforming. I'll publish the overall results next week.
